This month, Jacinta is 21 months old and Joaquin is 38 months old.

Jcnt: 21 months old! My dear Jacinta, we are fortunate to witness for ourselves that it is true what people say about each child being different. This would have been something that went into one hear and out the other if we didn't have you and Joaquin.
For one, you know and say a lot of words at this time. And just yesterday, I drew shapes (circle, triangle, diamond, square, octagon! and heart) on a piece of paper and you were able to name them. Oh and when we woke up in the morning, I pointed to a few animals (elephant, lion and monkey) that were on Joaquin's pajama and you named them as well.
When you see me drinking my big glass of water you also want me to pour water into your little glass -- not a sippy! -- so that you can drink it with me.
You are my little kissy and huggy girl. I love that I can just ask you (no begging here) for a kiss and a hug and you immediately satisfy my request.
There is also this thing you do with your eyes that is amusing. You scrunch your eyebrows together and slowly tilt your head down while keeping your eyes focused on the person.
Your favorite TV show is Barney. It makes me laugh when I sing the theme song to you because you become quiet and listen.

Jqn: 38 months old! Dearest Joaquin, sometimes you surprise us with words and sentences you blurt out. One day this past week, on our way home you said, "I see bus" when a CTA bus passed by. I see?! That was pretty much awesome. But, your daddy had to ruin the moment by instantly trying to teach you to say, "I spy with my little eye..."
I don't know where or how and from whom, but you learned how to do fake smiles. I hope you forget about this one.
Just when I thought that it will most likely be that you and Jacinta will fight constantly, you prove me wrong. If I do something playful to you, like tickle you, you ask me to also do it to the baby -- to 'cinta. I think you enjoy seeing your little sister laugh.
You are on the M&M's sound frequency, it seems. Yesterday, when I gave Jacinta a few pieces of M&M's in a bowl Daddy told me that you quickly jumped off the couch and ran to the kitchen. You both love eating "emen".
Your favorite books to read are 'Birthday Monsters!' and 'Green Eggs and Ham'. There are two new movies to add to your viewing pleasure: 'Bolt' and 'Wall-E"
Love you both,
Mama
P.S.
Daddy wanted me to include that you are both wearing Converse shoes. The ones without laces, of course.

P.P.S.
One more thing to add from Daddy; Jacinta, you like very much to look at yourself in the mirror.

Jacinta's feetsies after bath today.
