Maligayang Pasko | Feliz Navidad 2008

Merry Christmas to All!

Both Jacinta and Joaquin loved being inside this book-turned-to-bus thingy that Darius and Bonnette gave.

We attended the Children's Christmas Mass on Christmas Eve at my mom's parish. We arrived late, per usual, and both Joaquin and Jacinta had a good start. Jacinta was in my arms while examining everyone in the pews behind us. Joaquin and Georgie sat behind us and he was contently eating a bag of gummy bears. And then the 10-minute mark came and everything went downhill from there. Joaquin and Jacinta ran around the Church. At one point, Jacinta went to the front of the pews and down the center aisle. Most were ok with their frolics, some were annoyed. I'm sure.

Christmas Eve was held at my Mom's place. Some highlights:

  • Mama racing against time to get everything ready before everyone came.

  • Darius cooking the veggies.

  • Darius making Joaquin and Jacinta laugh out loud.

  • Jacinta and Danielle looking adorable in their Christmas outfits from Lola.

  • Ratatouille! made by Richard!! And Joaquin saying, "tatooee" when he saw it.

  • Kuya Josel and Ate Gayle spending time with us.

  • Tita Lily and Jo Anne drinking wine.

  • Joaquin in a sea of presents.

  • Holiday Jeopardy.

We spent the night at my Mom's. The next day, Christmas morning, we had brunch and casually opened our presents. My Mom was (an insane) trooper; she stayed up until 5AM that morning to get everything cleaned up.

Jqn & Jcnt on Lola's couch with all their gifts.

Georgie, my Mom and I had coffee from Dunkin' Donuts. Starbucks was only open 'til 2PM, I think, and there wasn't one near where my Mom lives.

We got home at around 6PM and opened more presents -- the ones we got for each other and for the babies and from Joaquin and Jacinta's grandparents. Most of their opened presents are now kept in my closet. We will surprise them throughout the year with these toys.

Fabi sent a package filled with goodies for the babies. This weekend, I plan to have Joaquin and Jacinta wear the clothes that she sent. Fabi also sent a couple of cute, little stuffed animals. But, they are just to whet their appetites as Fabi also told us that she sent a special toy -- one each -- for Joaquin and Jacinta. The store where she bought them from screwed up and the package is delayed. It's kind of OK though because that means Jqn and Jcnt will have something else to open in a few days!

This Christmas, we got for you Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.

I wanted to post pics of what Georgie got for me because I love them all. Georgie, you truly do know me. Thank you!

The stickers and postcard are soooo cute. I love 'em! And, I'm excited to read Twilight and the following books. And buying for me the Euphoria Blossom lotion because the company no longer makes the perfume is wonderful.

Georgie also gave me a tripod, which made this shot possible without our having to balance the camera on something unstable. The tripod also has the ability to shoo things at every angle. Just in case.

Thank you, everyone, for thinking about us and showering us with gifts. We had fun opening them and we will enjoy using/eating/watching/playing with all our stuffs.

At the end of the night -- Joaquin's 3rd and Jacinta's 2nd Christmas -- both of their faces were covered in lotion. The thing to note about the photos above is the way both their eyes are squinting; they were both anticipating the flash of the camera.
