This year we celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary with an 80's-themed party!

I was trying to find a post about this annual event in my blog and I was a little surprised to learn that I haven't said much about it.
Quite a few people came who were at our wedding ten years ago, but many more weren't present; either because of distance or we've lost our connection with them. Even better, as always, are our newfound family and friends who were here with us on this special occasion.
I want to jot down some memories from our Wedding Day...
In the morning, I wasn't sure how the weather was going to be. It was a bit cloudy and gray. But, when the hour arrived, the clouds cleared up and we were showered with blue skies and sunshine.
I remember that, after we took pictures at the altar, my head was pounding so hard that I was seriously thinking about dismantling my coiffure. Well, I did. There must have been over 100 bobby pins stuck in my hair! Taking most of them out didn't give me instant relief, but eventually it did.
The emcee pronouncing our last name with a French twist. "Mr. & Mrs. Diversieu!"
Naisy, at the end of her toast saying, "Dios, Patria y Libertad!", courtesy of Alex.
The servers -- champagne-filled glasses on trays in hand -- marching in to the tune of "The Cup of Life" by Ricky Martin.
My Dad and I dancing to "The Godfather Waltz".
Georgie and I dancing our First Dance to "Como Fue".
Carpacho played unbelievably!
The whole day just went by too fast. Way too fast. I wish I had taken it all in that day. I think I was too busy worrying about this and that and what comes after that I didn't really get a chance to sit back and enjoy.
After the party, Georgie and I went to our Honeymoon Suite. I think it had two floors. What I'll remember always is how strange it was for me to not go home with my parents that night.
(A VERY BIG thank you to my brother, Tristan, for taking the fabulous photos!)
Memories from our 10th Anniversary this year...
Most guests were a good sport and came dressed in their 1980's garb. I think, for most of us, the most memorable would be Noel's skin-tight outfit and his grand entrance. Actually, his whole family was totally dressed in the genre.
Too much food. We must have had food for 200 people. Chocolate covered bacon!
James' entertaining was awesome! We especially loved the MC Hammer outfit, which you brilliantly re-purposed as a "" at Elizabeth's birthday party.
Fabi did a nice job of decorating. And, your being here was extra special!
Jme, Michael and Devan!
Line and Soul Train dancing.
Richard playing his guitar and singing.
Mama telling everyone that she won the lottery! and then, without skipping a beat, that we are expecting another child!
Georgie, the love of my life, still looking like the handsome boy I met over 20 years ago, but now with much more maturity and wisdom.
